RESEARCH REQUESTS
Patrons are encouraged to visit the collection in person. Copies of documents can be made on a limited basis.
If
you have a reference question, please send it by mail to: Obituary when date of death is known or up to 2 pages of readily
available information: $5.00. Research up to 30 minutes which includes death records, newspaper
articles, city directory, or general name search of our holdings:
$10.00. Students grades K thru 12 will be charged $5.00 for school
assignment materials. Researchers are also asked to limit requests to two
(2) names or a maximum of ten (10) documents at a time. The Galveston and
Texas History Center reserves the right to decline filling requests if volume
makes it prohibitive. A list of private researchers will be provided
for those needing more extensive services of 31 minutes of research time or more. The Galveston and Texas History
Center does not sponsor nor guarantee the work of the individuals. We provide
their names as a service to our patrons who are in need of additional help with
historical, genealogical, and/or local history research.
